out of africa: sika designs

SIKA_07-13_Style06_0120I recently discovered Sika designs via a tumblr post by cut from a different cloth {they always post delectable designers from the diaspora}. Phyllis Taylor set up Sika in 2006, after completing a dress-making and pattern cutting course at the London College of Fashion.  Ms. Taylor incorporates Ghanaian fabrics, colors and patterns with nod to western design. Her designs are feminine, stylish, ethically crafted and the price point is pretty dang nice.  You can check out her designs (and purchase a dress or two) at boutique.sikadesigns.co.uk

btw..she also has adorable pieces for little girls.
